2. Data processed
| Data | When | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Address of the site to crawl or analyse | Bot check, explorer, loading a robots.txt | Our bot visits the site’s public pages and returns the result to you. Neither the address nor the pages are kept; only the site’s robots.txt is cached for one hour to respect its rules. | Performance of the service |
| robots.txt and results | While you use the tools | Assembled and shown in your browser; downloaded files stay on your device. | — |
| IP address (hashed) | Checks, analyses, contact form | Limit abuse (analyses per 10 minutes) | Legitimate interest (security) |
| Name, email and message | Contact form | Answer your request | Legitimate interest |
| Language (cookie) and theme (local storage) | When you choose a language or theme | Remember your preferences | Function requested by the user |
3. Crawled sites
Sites you analyse receive requests from our bot (RobotslabBot) from our server’s address, never your IP address. During a bot-by-bot check, our server also presents the identity of the bots being tested. The bot respects their robots.txt.
4. Retention
- Rate-limiting data (hashed IP address): 24 hours at most. robots.txt cache: 1 hour.
- Hosting technical logs: depending on its configuration, 30 days at most.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to reply.
- Language cookie: 12 months. Theme: until you clear it.
5. Recipients and transfers
Our hosting provider (hosting of the site, sending of emails) and Google Fonts (typefaces). Our company and these providers are based in the United States. Transfers from the European Union rely on the mechanisms provided by the GDPR (Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or standard contractual clauses).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the GDPR in the EU/EEA and the UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to and port your data. To exercise them, write to [email protected]. You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information.
